Academic Integrity Charter

As part of the declared policies adopted by the “Afaq Training Platform” e-learning platform, the platform is committed to respecting intellectual property rights when designing and uploading all digital educational materials and published digital content—whether texts, images, software, designs, or others—on the website or through e-learning systems and tools.

Academic integrity is considered one of the ethical pillars of our institutions, and it is mandatory and expected from all parties involved in the educational process, including the platform operators, instructors, and learners. We expect everyone to uphold this ethical responsibility.

To promote this value, we have published this document as a part of our fixed and public platform policies, listing the rules and practices of academic integrity as follows:

By agreeing to the platform’s Terms of Use upon registration, the content publisher acknowledges that:

  • They are the rightful owner of the content published on the platform or through the service and warrant that they hold the intellectual property rights.

  • Publishing the content through the service does not violate privacy rights, publicity rights, copyrights, contractual rights, or any other rights of any person or entity.

  • We reserve the right to terminate the account of any person proven to violate any of the aforementioned rights.

  • Receiving or providing unauthorized assistance in exams, final assessments, or any other academic tasks is prohibited.

The “Afaq Training Platform” platform maintains high academic standards in designing and developing its courses. It expects learners to act fairly, honestly, and in accordance with academic integrity principles, especially during evaluations, discussions, assignments, and scientific research.

The platform provides continuous guidance and technical support to students to ensure they understand the requirements for maintaining academic integrity.

It also offers tools and reports that enable it to deal fairly with students who violate academic integrity principles.

Impersonation—claiming another person’s identity to access the platform and obtain certificates or accredited hours on their behalf, whether for compensation or not—is strictly prohibited.

Student logins to the platform and attendance for lecture sessions are fully monitored.

Academic Integrity Principles for Learners

The “Afaq Training Platform” platform upholds high academic standards and expects learners to behave fairly, honestly, and in line with the principles of academic integrity, especially during assessments (discussions, assignments, and exams) and research.

All submitted work must be self-generated and independent, demonstrating acquired skills and fulfilling the intended educational outcomes.

The platform ensures learners receive proper guidance and ongoing technical support to understand academic integrity requirements and recognize that failure to maintain integrity constitutes academic misconduct.

It also provides reports and tools to ensure fair handling of students violating academic integrity rules.

Forms of Academic Misconduct

The following actions are considered violations of academic integrity:

  • Cheating: Copying others’ work or unauthorized use of notes, materials, or information during academic tasks or exams.

  • Plagiarism: Using someone else’s phrases, ideas, or content without proper attribution.

  • Misuse of Academic Assistance: Taking undue advantage of a peer’s good-faith academic help, such as copying a colleague’s report or old test.

  • Exploiting Collaboration: Relying on others to complete joint assignments or individual tasks.

  • Fabrication and Falsification: Altering or fabricating data or using forged medical documents to excuse absence.

  • Impersonation: Pretending to be another person in class, exams, or any academic setting.

Academic Integrity Violation Detection Mechanisms

The platform’s learning management system includes tools for detecting potential plagiarism in submitted assessments.

Disciplinary Actions for Impersonation and Cheating

    • Verbal warning documented with a written pledge or a formal written warning.

    • Temporary suspension from participating in platform activities.

    • Cancellation of the exam or related materials in cases of cheating or attempted cheating.
